WILD Cities Principle Three: Ensure access to wild nature by all socio-economic, ethnic and cultural groups, and increase relevance of wild nature to urban quality of life.
Strategies and tactics that support this principle overtly value the experience of citizens in nature. A WILD City will thus:
a. Provide equal opportunity for nature immersion and environmental education among varying age, cultural, ethnic and income groups within the city and encourage leadership from within these groups
b. Create recreational options that impart support for wild nature across generations and cultures
c. Rely upon nature to support education rooted in nature, e.g. science, math, art and history
d. Take advantage of technology and social media, particularly among youth
e. Acknowledge the existence and legacy values of wild assets, and emphasize natural features in city identity
