Tigers on Market Street is a story of a butterfly's behavioral adaptation to an urban environment. From the perspective of the Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus), Market Street, San Francisco’s main thoroughfare is a river canyon ecosystem with the butterfly’s larval food tree along the banks. Nature in the City is winning the hearts and minds of city planners and businesses alike – as Market Street is redesigned in the coming years, wildlife will have a big role to play.
